There is noise after installation

It does not fit. My mechanic double checked the installation but there is still noise from the shield. After taking off the shield, the noise is gone. The customer service is not helpful in assisting how to solve this issue.

Excellent product and even better customer service

I was not positive on whether to jack up the front or the rear of our 2015 Prius V. I contacted customer service. Within hours I received a phone call from a company rep right here in the USA who was quite helpful and told me and THEN sent a detailed diagram on jacking up the car. The printed instructions with the shield were first rate - follow them scrupulously - and the shield went in as easily as anything a 76 year old can do by himself while lying on his back in his driveway. The service was on a par with Eddie Bauer, Patagonia and other absolutely top tier (and rare) retailers. I can't say enough about how good the experience was.

Incidentally, I spent the extra $30 for the "special" fastening hardware - it is well-made and the "fit" is obviously custom meaning bad guys who try to unscrew it cannot just go to the hardware store and buy the bits to take it apart. The stainless unit itself looks like it will be quite resistant to a Sawzall.

Great company - we need more like this

Solid Product, Easy Install

The written instructions for installation that came with my shield weren't as clear as the video by Dan the Fix It Man suggested on the Cat Shield website. His video made installation easy. I got the stainless steel version of the shield as aluminum can be bent or cut while steel really can't without an acetylene torch. The tamper-proof screws and nuts are great but the third rear piece of the shield reuses the large chassis brace screws. I had a fair amount of lock-tight jel left over after installing the front six screws and two lock nuts, so I slathered the rear chassis bolts with the rest and put them on using serious torque which will be hard for everyone to remove other than the strongest guys or those using a long leveraged handle. I would recommend the stainless steel Cat Shield to anyone trying to protect their catalytic converter from theft.

Easy install

Pretty easy install once you get everything orientated the right way and can visualize how it’s gonna go together. An extra set of hands is useful but I managed it by my self with an assist from my 11 year old handing me things. Tip: If you live in a road salt area soaking the threads in penetrating oil a few times in days leading up to install could be helpful. I managed it without but had to fight some corrosion on the bolts removing them.
