MILLERCAT 2004-2009 Prius Gen 2 Cat Shield™

Had my catalytic converter stolen (for the 2nd time!) recently and just got it replaced. When I first told my mechanic I wanted to get some sort of theft prevention device installed on my 04 Prius, he told me "there's no point in wasting your money, nothing offers good enough coverage, they'll just cut it on either side of whatever you put on and they'll take the whole thing". Decided to order this shield just so I could say that at least I tried instead of just letting it be a sitting duck. After the Millercat shield was installed, I got a call from my mechanic and he said he was impressed with the amount of coverage it gave to the car's underside and he believes that it will actually be an effective deterrent. He said that he's installed some protective measures before, but this was the best that he's seen. Needless to say, that gives me great peace-of-mind. No overheating, excessive noise, or vibrations either, gave 4 out of 5 only because I haven't seen it tested against a thief yet.

Thank you, Millercat, for making this shield to protect our cats -- was told it was easy to install, even with the improved bolts. No noise or vibration that I notice. I pray it works!

The product is great. It looks like it would of help to have designed it a little longer. I did have some trouble getting the clearance under my Prius to install had to barrow a bigger jack and had to purchase a rivet gun. So had an extra expense. Let's see if it deters thieves. I do sleep better at night with the sheild installed.

My mechanic and I each independently researched a solution so that my catalytic converter would not be stolen a second time. We both chose this one. Purchase and installation is about 10% of replacing catalytic converter. Went on quickly, no rattles, no problems. So far, so good.

The shield is pretty easy to install if you've done mechanical work before and have a lift to get under the car. I think it will definitely slow down any thieves. I also got the rivet nut tool which is pretty solid. I had no vibration or other issues.
