The Prius C Cat Shield™ is one of our best engineering accomplishments. Our unique design and installation process allows you to have a one piece shield that will prevent the bowing or flexing of the shield. By studying the air flow and mounting points of the shield, we were able to increase the stability and rigidity of the shield. Like with all of our shields, you will be getting the most advanced protection device in the market. Fully removable and galvanic corrosion resistant.
Fits all 2012-2019 Prius C with OEM converters. Comes with Cat Shield, installation hardware, Cat Shield Protected sticker, and detailed installation guide.

Install was straight forward and relatively easy if you have the tools for it. I was able to install it in my driver way using a Jack and two jack stands to lift the car.
So far, the product is fine. It came highly reviewed by others. The HUGE challenge I had was finding a shop to install it for a fair price in my San Diego neighborhood. Some shops I contacted wouldn't even consider the work. One that did quoted me $150 to install the product. For what should be about an hour of labor, the installation price is quite high. A shop listed as an official installer on the Cat Shield website, wanted to charge me $200! A Toyota dealership was listed on the Cat Shield website as an official installer, but when I called, they stated they weren't. I ended up going with the $150 install, as it was close to my house and overall has a good reputation. They wouldn't warranty the install, since I supplied the part. It may be better to work with a shop that will order the product for you, so the labor is warrantied. So, unless you have the time, skills and tools to install yourself, you may want to identify a shop that will install before purchasing.
I took this down to the local mechanic and had him put it on. Cost me 65 bucks. First thing I noticed after I put it on my Prius-C is that it reflects a lot of engine noise into the passenger compartment. Kinda makes me feel like I'm driving a souped-up rice burner.
I also talked to a friend of mine after the fact that owns a car dealership. He said I would now need to be concerned about my cat overheating, esp. on long trips, due to reduced air flow. True, false...who knows?
On the other hand, I guess it's harder to steal my cat now. Only time will tell if I regret putting this thing on my car.
Hi Aaron. I would verify with your installer that they installed all the spacers and rubber dampeners to the shield. If any are missing, you will get some vibration and is the likely reason you are doing so right now. We've thoroughly tested this design not only for noise, but for heat. And we use thermal probes in various parts around to converter to measure temperatures with and without a shield. You can rest assured that our 30 years of experience in converter manufacturing gives us some credibility when it comes to temperature testing and making sure our products are safe for your car. Again, make sure all the hardware was used and you can always contact us for any troubleshooting.
Great product. We shall see if the Cat Convertor never gets stolen. Ask me in 5 years. I will let you know if something happens!
With 4 cats stolen in my parking lot, I was worried I'd be next. The Millercat Cat Shield along with my 2 way alarm, makes me worry-free when I go to bed.
Was hoping for a steel version instead of aluminum. Thieves who see this will likely target an easier car.
Mechanic charged me 1 1/3 hours labor for install. I've seen shorter times for install reported online.
