We watched the You Tube video and read through your website on the cat shield. The only improvement needed is to get certify more installers in the Texas area. We had to drive an hour to get ours installed.
Order arrived quickly - self installed in less than an hour on 2021 Tundra, perfect fit, looks great.
I am pleased with the quality of this shield as was my mechanic.
This was my first install. My second was on a 3rd Gen Prius. It was pretty straight forward as I have all the tools except 25/64" drill bit and the rivet nut too. Having a small drill would have been better (or get a step drill bit). With my car jacked up to the maximum and on jack stands, the drill with the 25/64" bit was too long to fit under the car directly perpendicular. I had to used small diameter drill bits first (because the bits were shorter), then as I drill through, I started going up in size, which meant that the drill bits got longer. By doing this way, I didn't have to drill side ways with the 25/64” drill bit. I think recommending a step drill bit, may have been better than getting a 25/64" drill bit. Of note, I my 25/64 drill bit did get caught on an edge and got pulled the drill up despite pulling down hard. My fuel lines did get nick, doesn't look like it need to be replace. Instead of actually drilling at this location, I recommend just putting a rivet here, no drilling needed. Make sure you buy a 2 in 1 rivet nut tool to do this option.
I’ve been following scores of accounts from Prius owners (all over the country) who have been victimized by catalytic converter thieves. It clearly appears to be a growing problem. In fact, a close relative of mine has been victimized for a second time (just last week, most recently). I own two Prius vehicles, and I worry about being the next victim. The Stainless Steel MillerCat shields I purchased now allows me to have peace of mind in that regard. I didn’t feel confident installing it correctly on my own, so I used one of the authorized installers from the listing on the MillerCat website and received seamlessly professional installation. I’m honestly happy to have invested in this added layer of protection.
